Our Story

Perch Interiors’ founder, Kathleen Fox, fell in love with design at a young age, curiously watching her mother renovate the family’s 1800’s farmhouse in rural Ohio. She learned how to spot good bones and see beyond the surface to the possibility. From her mother and other artistic family members, she gleaned the valuable knowledge of how to transform undesirable elements into coveted treasures.

These early lessons fueled the way Kathleen approached design in her own homes. She steadily gained a reputation amongst neighbors and friends for her soulful design work. Word of mouth spread quickly, and now with a growing team of like-minded designers, she finds joy in impacting lives through intentional design. Each and every day she uses her gifts to sow seeds of beauty, connection, and joy in the Charlotte area and beyond.

As owner and lead designer, Kathleen casts the vision for our team. She sets the tone with her design ideas and problem solving skills. Kathleen is our biggest encourager and helps all of us reach our goals, while leading with grace + strength.
Jenny Fritz

ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
Our in-house style icon, Jenny brings color, pattern, and texture together effortlessly! She loves a mixture of old + new to create spaces that are beautiful, interesting, and functional. Jenny adds warmth and beauty to everything she touches.
Chelsea Kebrdle

STUDIO + OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
As our studio and operations coordinator, Chelsea keeps the designers up to date & organized. She leads with a kind spirit and inspires us with her impeccable style & daily Olipop. We would be a mess (literally) without her!
Mary Ellen Going

ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
With over two decades of design experience, Mary Ellen shares her passion for renovations with us. She enjoys space planning, CAD drawing, and thinking through all the details to prepare for construction. We love the joy and enthusiasm that she brings to everything she does!
